The Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society and Innovation Centre Banja Luka are organizing “Forward” conference in Banja Luka on December 2 and 3 2020.

The first day of the conference is focused on Regional perspective of digital economy, primarily due to its impact on economic development, which becomes a challenge but also an opportunity to strengthen the competitiveness of economic entities. Digital economy is a new form of economy based on digital technologies and represents one of the most attractive opportunities for business growth and development. Nowadays, business is conducted with the application of information and communication technologies that are rapidly advancing and becoming part of more and more spheres of business and private life. Development of technology has led to the emergence of the idea of digitalization of the economy, that is, the emergence of the digital economy. Digital economy was driven by globalization, which brought with it networking, mobility, integration, e-business, direct business, digital products and services, new organizational forms.

The second day of the conference focuses on the Smart City concept as a city in which investments in human capital, traditional (transport) and modern (ICT) infrastructure with wise management of natural resources and active citizen participation encourage sustainable economic growth and increase quality of life. Smart city solutions take into account different requirements, constraints and challenges faced by cities.

The goal of the “Forward” conference this year as well is to put on the agenda current topics from the world of economics and ICT, which have a direct impact on the development of the economy and on the quality of life of citizens themselves. Due to current epidemiologic situation, the conference will be held online.
