Vojin Mitrović, PhD, Minister of Communications and Transport of BiH, was born in 1961 in the village of Donji Brodac near Bijeljina. He finished primary and secondary school in his hometown, while he obtained a degree in mechanical engineering at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, where he received his master's degree in 1999, and then his doctorate in 2007.
Immediately after graduating in 1984, he worked briefly at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, and then at the “Majevica” factory in Bačka Palanka. The following year, he was employed in the Factory of flexible Pipes and shafts “Panaflex” in Bijeljina, which then operated under the name UNIS “Mladost”. He worked at Panaflex until 1992, when he founded his private company - “Oktan promet”. In October 2014, he won a parliamentary seat in the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska. At the general elections in 2018 he won a seat in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly. On December 23, 2019 he was appointed Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the BiH Council of Ministers.
